Event Date Change

After a lot of deliberation, and review of other events that are scheduled in and around Saskatchewan for 2013, we have decided that it would be best to move the date of the Queen City Cruise In to July 6 and 7, 2013. Please mark your calendars!! We are meeting with some key players this week to confirm some of the finer details of the event, so stay tuned to this website for more information as it becomes available.

If you would like to become a sponsor for the 2013 edition of the Queen City Cruise In, please send us an email, and we would be happy to oblige! Join the many businesses who have already discovered how amazing a publicity opportunity this unique event is.

Planning Underway for 2013

The great folks at Prairie Soul Productions Inc. are very excited to start the planning for the 2013 Queen City Cruise In! We will be partnering with another great local event, the Collector Car Group Collector Car Auction, and it will be a weekend full of festivities.

As it is only November 2012, it is far too early to disclose any of the finer details about the event, but we are looking to move the event date to work with our new partner, and also the location, to enable a more inclusive kind of event. We are looking to incorporate a wide variety of car-related attractions, and will release more information as it becomes available over the coming months. At this time, the tentative dates for the Queen City Cruise In will be July 20-21, 2013. We hope to include a show and shine, vendor alley, live bands, monster truck rides, autocross demonstration and a burnout contest. There are a few other items we are working on that will hopefully ensure a wide variety of entertainment for all age groups!

If you are a local band or business, and you want to participate in the 2013 Queen City Cruise In, just drop us an email at queencitycruisein@gmail.com or follow us on Twitter @queencitycruise.

Stay tuned for more details!

Thank You!!!!!

The first ever Queen City Cruise In was a huge success!!!!! We want to thank everyone that came out to participate and to take in the events. We had over 40 cars come out, which for an event that the primary marketing was word of mouth and Social Media, is extremely impressive. We had a great Food Vendor on board, Bon Burger (be sure to check them out today at the Canada Day festivities in Wascana Park). We had a great DJ company, Momentum Productions, spinning awesome tracks throughout the day. We had a great 2013 event partner, the Collector Car Group, displaying a $100,000 1963 Split Window Corvette, something they rarely ever do! We had a great local band, Finding Penny, who are from Moose Jaw, and their first single will be released in the near future to be played on Mix 103.9 in Moose Jaw. And, we had great media coverage from CTV, SaskTel Max Local On Demand, Tornado Hunter Jared Mysko did a live stream, and the immense social media coverage from the personal photos and videos that are sure to be floating around on Facebook today.

Thank you to the Regina Hotel Association for being our major funding partner for 2012, and we look forward to working with you again 2013. Without your help, this event would have been just a bunch of cars with no entertainment.

We will be posting photos in the next few weeks. Stay tuned!

It's here!!!

Today is the day!! Saturday, June 30, 2012 in beautiful Downtown Regina, the first ever Queen City Cruise In, in support of the Chili for Children program here in Regina.

If you have already registered, and want to take part in the Cruise down Albert Street, meet us at Toys R Us by no later than 1:30PM. We will mingle there for a little while, while my wife and I run over to help with the police escort of the Jurassic Attack Monster Ride Truck from the East Superstore. Once we have that set in place at the City Square Plaza, we will come back to Toys R Us, to grab the rest of the group, and begin the Cruise down Albert Street! Our time goals are to have the cruise begin by 2:15PM, and be at the City Square Plaza no later than 2:45PM. If you have not registered yet, and want to take part in the Cruise, we will gladly accept your registration at Toys R Us, along with your $15 entry fee.

If you just want to join us at the Show and Shine, head on down to the City Square Plaza, entry via the 1800 block of Cornwall Street, before 3:30PM. Ideally, we would like to have all vehicles in place by 3:15PM, to satisfy City requirements. Once parked, we request that there is NO MOVEMENT of vehicles until at least 9pm, in accordance with City guidelines. You might want to stick aruond later than that though, since Finding Penny plays at 9PM. And, anyone with cool light effects on their car, you are more than welcome to turn them on at that time, as it will be dark enough to have them pretty vibrant.

After the event, you are free to do what you want, but if you are going to cruise Albert Street afterwards, please obey all traffic laws. If the enforcement is anything like it is in Saskatoon, the Regina Police Service will not be very lenient with any kind of illegal behaviour, and rightfully so.

See you at the Cruise In!

Time is running out!

We are mere days away from the first ever Queen City Cruise In, and we at Prairie Soul Productions Inc. are getting very excited about things! With some last minute adjustments, we are very proud to say that most of everything is still on schedule! As this is the first year, there will always be hiccups, and aside from the removal of the poker derby, everything is set to go for the show and shine on Saturday.

If you haven't pre-registered yet, what are you waiting for? You SAVE $5 and you are guaranteed a FREE CAR WASH from Maxx Auto Wash!! We will still be giving out the free car washes to people who register at the event, but the number of passes will be limited, and once they are gone, they are gone!

Starting Thursday, in anticipation of the Queen City Cruise In, there will be Monster Truck Rides offered at the East Superstore, for the low, low price of only $5 per ride! This is an experience that you won't get very often, and I can't stress this enough, it is for kids of ALL ages!!! That includes YOU mom, and YOU grandpa, and yes, even YOU little baby Johnny. A big thank you to Don Frankish, a veteran in the Monster Truck industry, who is bringing the Jurassic Attack Monster Ride Truck out for your enjoyment.

We are also working very diligently to get the Monster Truck down to City Square Plaza for the car show itself, but we are waiting word back from some very helpful folks to ensure it will work without many hitches.

We will be accepting pre-registrations only up until midnight Friday, and then after that the price goes up to $15 on the day of the event. We have great door prizes, including the grand prize of a 3.5 Ton Hydraulic floor jack courtesy of Partsource!!! If you want to be a part of the Cruise down to the Plaza, please join us at Toys R Us across from Canadian Tire and Burger Baron on Albert Street, no later than 1:30PM Saturday. Registrations will be accepted there and on site at the City Square Plaza.

Wednesday 20 June 2012

Free Car Wash!!

With great thanks to our newest partner, all participants who pre-register will receive a voucher for a FREE car wash thanks to Maxx Auto Wash in Regina, Saskatchewan. The great folks at Maxx Auto Wash have a wand wash, an automatic car wash, and they also have a dog wash!!! They are located in Northwest Regina, right across the street from Superstore.

Be sure to support this great local business for the Queen City Cruise In, and year round.

Location, location, location.

I've had a really great question asked on an online forum about the location of each event, and while I explained the reasoning on there, it does make sense to post that same information on here so that everyone is aware.

The only location that is listed on the Event Information tab is the City Square Plaza for the show and shine, and Kings Park Speedway for the Street Car Challenge. The other locations are not listed, and there is a good reason for that. The Bullrun-style Poker Derby, Charity Car Wash, and Cruise down Albert Street are specifically available only to pre-registrants. When you pre-register, we will have your contact information, and by next weekend, when locations are firmly in place, you will be notified as to where to meet for each portion of the event, so that you can pick and choose which you participate in.

The Charity Car Wash is being hosted by a great new sponsor, and you will be provided with a free car wash pass with your registration fee. This will be limited to the number of free car wash passes we are provided, so be sure to register early! The Cruise down Albert Street will go from Toys R Us to the City Square Plaza,.

Thank you all for your continued support, and be sure to ask any more questions that you feel are not answered on this website.

See you at the Cruise In!

Watch for our digital billboards!!!

With many thanks to Digital Skies Advertising, we are working on getting a really kick-ass digital billboard to promote the Queen City Cruise In!!!! We are hoping to have it up and running by middle to end of next week, and with the great vibe that I got from them, it is going to be about as awesome looking as the poster itself.

Stay tuned for full details!!!!

Added some great sponsors!

Thank you so much to the sponsors that have come on board so far to make the Queen City Cruise In a huge success for 2012!!! As the date draws near, more vendors are greatfully coming on board to make this an event to remember. Please be sure to support the sponsors listed on our page, because without them, the Queen City Cruise In would not be possible.

Welcome to the Queen City Cruise In!

Thank you for visiting the Official Website for the first ever Queen City Cruise In! We are very proud to bring a different kind of car show to the Regina area, and we are very pleased to be working with some great people and businesses in order make this a huge success. This will be held on Canada Day Long Weekend in Regina, Saskatchewan, which will be a great weekend to take in so many festivities, one of which we hope you will make the Queen City Cruise In.

What makes the Queen City Cruise In different from other similar events in Regina is that it will be hosted in the brand new City Square Plaza in the heart of Downtown Regina, and will run into the later hours of the day. This will allow those participants with lighting modifications to their cars, to be able to show them off at the event. Be sure to check out the full Schedule of Events page and the Registration Information for full details.

There will be food vendors on site, vendor displays, a wide variety of vehicles, live entertainment and more! As the date draws closer, more details will be announced. Come on Regina, let's show Saskatoon that we can put on just as great of an event as their annual Cruise Weekend!
